Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy is provided for children ages 2-12 with an Autism Spectrum Disorder diagnosis. ABA is an evidence-based therapy that focuses on improving skills, such as communication, socialization, and self-care, through systematic teaching procedures. The goal is to increase helpful and controlled behaviors while decreasing harmful or challenging behaviors.
ABA is endorsed by the U.S. Surgeon General, the American Academy of Pediatrics, and the National Institute of Mental Health.
Our Programs
One-on-one, individualized behavioral therapy is provided by a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) and overseen by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to support ongoing communication, social, and emotional development. Daily therapy is conducted based on each child's skills, needs, and interests, which are determined upon an intake assessment. Routine assessments are performed every six months.
The Lori Center creates an environment that promotes cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development. We want to maximize the independence and potential of every child we serve. Children are active participants in their learning experiences so that they are able to apply the skills taught in therapy to real-world situations.
Our program promotes the following:
- a healthy and safe environment for children
- regular communication with parents or caregivers
- frequent, positive interactions among children and credentialed adults
- planned learning activities appropriate for each child's development
- an opportunity for children with diverse abilities to participate in services and activities together
Children will attend therapies four days (Monday-Thursday) every week for four and a half hours each day. Morning and afternoon sessions are available. Families will also receive training sessions to assist with their child's goals.
